Masks, and Defiance

Sound was all around as the confessions ripped through
like staccato the noise was meant to be the truth
yet beneath the whirs and zips and chimes
a cry was born, and was a lie.
Masks came on, the souls came out
freeze dried and stored for later use
as a facade, a wall, a guise, these masks made men
from lowly wage.
Ambition wrecked the hungry hearts
the brilliant minds sought utility
for selfish needs, and false allies
instead of closeness, or open minds.

i am thankful for?!
another year is ending. how quick! when i have just adjusted to writing dd/mm/10, now it’s dd/mm/11?! woaaaah. time for ___ reflection ___ (okay! time to look out for your names)
hmm, starting with the basics:
•Family - extractions from the naggings proved useful as advice and encouragement. I love you Grandma! <3
•An awesome IAP experience (SAY WOOOO DS TEAM!)
•An awesome Poly experience with the awesomest class ever with a loving class mentor :D

Life Stars:

•Clique - you guys have made the whole 3 years in school wonderful! although we have lil time left, i’m still soooo grateful for all the moments we had :D

•Gayathre K. Mogan aka B-Word - who would ever get a BFF that sticks with you even if the sky falls down? Me! :) thanks for always being there, even if you know i’m the one at fault, you still gave me the support. we’ve perfectly demonstrated that friendly affection doesn’t need to be spoken through words! awww, you’ll still have alot of suffering to bear with me. put on your seatbelt man!

•Rie - bff that screams at insects causing reduction of half their lifespan. her ears are made for me to rant. mwaahaha. thanks for always being here + being auntie with me (because no one will ever do what we do at OUR AGE)

•Stella Brella Snailie Snailla Severus Snape Wong (my loveee) - gosh, it’s the start of 7 years knowing you. Loud sigh. AHAHA! Thanks for your constant “Ohh Ok” replies, i know you’re listening to my rants :) Can never get enough of your epic OCD habits and you’re sarcastic statements when you’re annoyed at someone (she who must not be named….) You’ll never fail to entertain and make my day! Last note, I’ll still follow whatever you decide! HAHAHA. Oh, starbucks coming friday or what?

•Kit & Nis - woah, been such a long time of knowing you two who are closer than sisters! am thankful for all the fun we had in our outings. even if we’re busy, i’m still thankful for you two GB mates! <3

•Jiggly Ng - there’s only 1 thing i can be thankful for, letting me know such an epic person. HAHAHAHA!! ultimate blur sotong with malfunctioned ears. Thanks for listening to me, even if you’re blur :) love you deep deep, and you’ll forever be more manly than me (ADMIT IT)

•Twiggy Michelle - never found someone more similar, but smarter and prettier. love your ever entertaining (although seemingly gross) comments and i’m glad for the time we had (even if it was so short) loveee!

•Sandy Battie Batthya Devi - awww, you have great gossip girl potential. HAHA! enjoyed all starbucks times with you, just love having you as a friend!
•Friends - glad that you guys made 2010 good, be it love, hurt, joy, pain or sorrow. many lessons to learn, many things to get over. thanks for putting up with my nonsense, i know it’s annoying sometimes. apologies!

no doubt, the first few months of 2011 is going to be quite a living hell, particularly in terms of school work and blooodddyyyy exams. i’d just pray and hope that the rest of 2011 is FULL OF SURPRISES (good ones, that is)! :D
new beginnings? naah, just a fresh pickup point from where i left off, in the continous journey of ahems - life.

'oh simple thing, where have you gone?' just when i thought work had stole my life and i longed for my books. now the books have come, and i wanna flee! life is bleak, for now. test test test test test test test. testosterone, progesterone, oral contraceptives, pharmacology -.- blah blah. i kinda admire people who show pure nonchalance, they don't bother, they don't care. saying more would just jeopardize everything.

oh, modern family is a good comedy! thank goodness they're renewed for season 2 :) besides serials, i have a book to recommend! i know, i don't usually read.. marie introduced it (thanks marie! :D), i found it quite interesting and true enough, 3 days and i'm already halfway through. considering i bought the last book of Harry Potter for a year, and it's collecting dust on my shelf. go ahead, mock me :(

behold, the book i'm talking about.. All We Know of Heaven - Jacquelyn Mitchard. Here's a synopsis:

"Two girls, Bridget and Maureen, who are so similar and yet so different at the same time. They have nearly

identical body shapes, have the same colored hair and eyes, and even share many of the same mannerisms and characteristics. They've been best friends for several years, and yet there's a part of Maureen that understands that Bridget considers her to be her friend out of convenience, and for what she can provide for her.

eventful half of the week! i splurged... that feeling can't be ignored. i wondered where all my pay went. my dad was right, i'll probably end up bankrupt one day with such poor financial management. haha! too broke to be nonchalant about splurging like this, especially when i don't even recall what i wasted ka-chings on. ahh, typical -.- my mom and dad noticed i grew fatter, just that my mom was the one who voiced it out loud (fyi, i'm sure my parents love me.. thats why they needed to tell me the hard truth) HAHA. mind says i need to do something about it, body says well you can wait, food says eat me! it's complicated. oh well, probably start soon, NYAA needs to be completed anyway *motivation, tadaaa*

hols are awesome so far. packed with activities and non-stop fun :) and as predicted, i didn't hit the gym/ pool as oftenly as i wanted to (emo). bid goodbye to weight starting with number 4 :( outing to sentosa was fantastic, except the fact that my skin didn't get any sun because it was raining! GRAAAH. how unsatisfiying. got the chance to touch grandma's ancient mahjong tiles. wooots~ it was fun even though i kinda sucked. HAHA. anyhow, here's a movie i need to watch. always welcome watch it with me! :D

September's Favourite: Pretty Little Liars
goodness, this show completely took up the entire saturday (not that i mind, at all) with just 10 episodes in the first season. the suspense is intense! oh and not to mention, the lezzing scene? =x completely unexpected. It's like "The L Word" + "Ghost Whisperer" + "When a stranger calls" + "Desperate Housewives" back-tracked to their teen years. Not to mention, most of the girls in this show is smokin' hot. Out of luck though, season 2 returns only in 2011. DRAMA MAMA IS BACK! :) Spice up my oh-so-boring-holidays with unlimited american series/ movies. Not forgetting, all my beloved shows are returning with a new season this september. I love my life, period.

House - 20th (can't wait for awesome season 7)
